Charles W. “Chuck” Steele

Charles W. “Chuck” Steele, of Shelby, also known to many as “Cheese”, died Saturday night, February 17, 2024 under the care of Hospice of Central Ohio at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was 60.
Chuck was born November 22, 1963 in Shelby to the late Charles D. and Dorothy (Adkins) Steele. A 1982 graduate of Shelby High School, Cheese worked the majority of his career at MTD Shelby Operations from where he retired. As a hobby, Chuck enjoyed riding his motorcycle and four-wheeling, loved tending to his garden, and enjoyed making trips to Kentucky to visit family.
Chuck always made sure to be present for his daughter and son, no matter what. Surviving are his daughter: Kelli (Branden) Christensen of Tomah, WI, and son: Josh Steele of Shelby. He loved spending time with his grandson, Julius Christensen, who also survives, along with brothers: Roger (Elaine) Steele of Willard and Rick (Elizabeth) Steele of FL; half-sister: April Steele of Shelby; step-siblings: Jennifer (Steve) Keith of Mansfield and Scott (Sarah) Steele of Bloomville; step-mother: Sherri Steele Gowitzka of Shelby; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Vicki Weaver.
Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 11 am-1pm at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 pm with Rev. Gary Adkins, his uncle, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation (LiverFoundation.org).

So very sorry to hear of Chuck’s passing. I worked with him for many years at MTD and remember many good times we all had. He will be greatly missed. Your family has my deepest condolences.

Sorry, to hear of Chucks passing, was a cousin of mine, great person, with a great attitude towards people, will be greatly missed. Had a good time talking to him at the reunions.
I worked with Chuck for a few years at MTD. Always was a great and funny guy.
He will be missed.

So so sorry to hear of cheeses passing. Shared many great times together as kids growing up thru school at the tire shop at his house used his car for my DL exam almost shared same Birthday mine 21st his was the 22nd he was a great friend and great guy heaven is a better place see u later cheese
