Chuck was born January 18, 1940 in Port Clinton, Ohio to the late Charles Michael and Evelyn Martina (French) Podgurski. He was a nearly eight-year veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War and was a longtime employee of RR Donnelley in Willard from where he retired. He and Iney enjoyed their place at Lake Erie where they loved to boat and fish. He also was a talented stain glass artist and had been a member of the Willard Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his caretakers who are his niece and nephew: Melanie and Chris Elliott of Plymouth; siblings: Phyllis Lauffhaut of Ocean Springs, MS, Andrea (Pert) Williams of Madison, OH, and Timothy Williams of CA; and numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Chuck was preceded in death by his sister: Kathleen Shwartz.

Private graveside services with military honors will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven with burial beside his wife, Iney.
