Carol Ann Bevier

Carol Ann Bevier, age 73, of Mansfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, November 26, 2021 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital following a battle with breast cancer.

Carol was born September 15, 1948 in Shelby to the late Walter E. and Delores (Schiefer) Bevier. She was a 1966 graduate of Shelby High School where she excelled at playing basketball. She then attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Carol taught at Mansfield Business College for 11 years.

Carol was a true servant of the Lord and was always faithful to Him. She served Him through her work and outreach at Bethel Baptist Church where she was an active member her entire life. Her true ministry was anything that involved helping children. At Bethel, her main involvement was with the bus ministry and teaching Sunday School. Carol was extremely outgoing and enjoyed sharing her faith with others. A lifelong learner, she had enjoyed reading since she was a child and furthered her knowledge of the Lord’s word by attending both Appalachian Bible College and Moody Bible Institute.

Carol is survived by her foster sons whom she raised: Steven (Heather) Gamble and Ryan Gamble; her closest friend: Rosa Lambright of Mansfield; her sister-in-law: Sally Bevier of Shelby; her nephews: Gary (Chrissy) Bevier of Shelby and Kyle Bevier of Centreville, VA; 2 great nieces; 2 aunts: Judy Everhart and Cassie Poffenbaugh; numerous cousins; and a host of friends and church family. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Robert E. Bevier, and her niece, Jamie Chamberlain.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 10-11 am at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will immediately follow at 11 am. Pastor John Bouquet, her pastor, will officiate the services and burial will follow in Tiro Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, PO Box 128, Savannah, Ohio 44874.

    We r so sorry. We moved here in 1995. Got a box of cookies on our door step. Didn’t know who they was from. The next year we found out it was her. The boys would deliver them. Them cookies where so good. She was a very nice person. She took care of stray cats! Thank u Carol!
