Carl Nolen
Carl Nolen, age 63, of Shelby, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his home.
Carl was born September 24, 1950 in Mansfield, the son of the late Cecil and Goldie (Duff) Nolen. He was a 1968 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and earned an associate’s degree from The Ohio State University. Carl was a veteran of the Army serving in Vietnam. He had worked at Westinghouse in Mansfield until its closing and then worked in metal fabrication for various local companies. Carl was a member of the Crawford County Sportsman’s Club.
Carl is survived by: a daughter: Michelle Gillin of Indiana; a granddaughter: Elizabeth Gillin; 6 siblings: Agnes (Charles) Hensley of Crestline, Madeline Stone of Mansfield, Cegar (Lydia) Nolen of Shelby, Evelyn (Larry) Guill of Mansfield, Judy (Tom) Guill of Shelby, Pamela (Keith) Scaggs of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 10-11 AM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM with Rev. John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with military honors conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
