Carl Foster
Carl Foster, age 81, a longtime Shelby resident, died Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Sunrise of Dublin Assisted Living in Dublin, Ohio.
Carl was born April 11, 1938 in Cogswell, KY. He was a 1956 graduate of Shelby High School and was a member of the Army Air National Guard for three years. After working at Shelby Spring Hinge, Carl spent most of his working career at Shelby Business Forms, retiring under UFORMA. Carl also owned several rental properties and enjoyed working on them and their upkeep. He loved to mow grass and garden. His hobbies included fishing and Carl was able to enjoy one final fishing trip just last week with a group from Sunrise of Dublin.
Survivors include 3 children: Brian Foster of Shelby, Tammy Foster Shade of Dublin, and Jason (Sara) Foster of Mansfield; 5 grandchildren: Joshua, Matthew, Jack, Lauren, and Emily Foster; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years: Carrie Mae (Cutright) Foster; and his parents: Orie Foster and Clara (Johnson) Foster Tackett.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11 am at the First Church of God, 3616 State Route 39, Shelby, where Carl was a member. Pastor Rita Bullock will officiate and burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

I’m so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. You did a great job caring for him while he was in Dublin. You’re an amazing daughter to your dad. My heart breaks for all the Fosters.
