Arnold Renz

Arnold Renz, age 79, of Shelby, died Monday October 22, 2018 at his home.
He was born October 5, 1939 in Luck, Poland the son of the late Eduard and Olga Renz. Arnold was a 1958 graduate of Plymouth High School. He worked for the railroad for 40 years through several companies and mergers, retiring from CSX. Arnold was “Jack of all trades, master of none” but carpentry was his favorite., and something that he was very good at. Arnold was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, teacher and mentor.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Carol (Wallen) Renz of Shelby; 2 children: Audrey Marie Renz (Steven Wayne Bowdle) of Shiloh and Walter Todd Renz of Marion; 4 grandchildren: Cheryl Lynn Carrington, Levi Carrington, Brittany Ann Baugh, David Allen Baugh; 5 great grandchildren: Karlie-Marie Lynn Sobleskey, Robert Justin “RJ” Sobleskey, Kaylyn Grace Towe, Ethan James Schaade, Ryleigh Annette Nicol Burch; 3 brothers: Erwin (Wilma) Renz, Horst (Youngae) Renz, Albert Renz; a sister: Herta Panknin. He was preceded in death by: his parents; a son: Lawrence Arnold Renz; a brother: Edwin Renz.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 10-11 am at PENWELL TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will follow at 11 am with Pastor Blanche Tyree officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
