Anna Oesch

Anna Oesch, age 92, formerly of Shelby and currently of Columbus, died Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Crown Pointe Care Center in Columbus.

Anna was born December 8, 1925 in Freienbach-Hoefe, Switzerland to the late Arnold and Klara (Suter) Wihler. In the fall of 1951, Anna received a visa to come to the United States of America and became a United States citizen in 1960 in Ashland, Ohio. Anna was employed by GAF Shelby Uforma Business Forms. While there, she worked for 12 years in the ruling and paste-up department then as a stitcher and a press helper on the continuous machine. She retired in January of 1989 after 15 years of service.

Anna was a member of the First Church of God in Shelby. Her hobbies included sewing clothes for dolls, crocheting, knitting, working in her yard and garden, singing – and would yodel if requested. She also liked to visit shut-ins and send greeting cards.

Surviving are her 4 children: Gregory K. (Paula) Oesch of Middletown, Colette D. (Allen) Huggins of Richmond, VA, Carlton J. (Lisa) Oesch of Columbus, and Frederick A. (Jeanne) Oesch of Plain City; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother: Bruno Wihler of Wilen-Hoefe, Switzerland; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: a great grandson: Zachary Vega; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM. Her son, Greg, will officiate the services and burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
