Alson B. Burkholder

Alson B. Burkholder, age 22 years, 5 months, 16 days, of Shiloh, died Sunday, February 21, 2021 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Alson was born on September 5, 1998 in Shiloh, Ohio, the youngest son of Samuel M. and Wilma S. Burkholder. He was a self-employed farmer and a member of Bloomingrove Old Order Mennonite Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his special friend: Joanna Zimmerman; 4 brothers and 5 sisters: Mark Ray and Rachel (Martin) Burkholder, Norma and Harvey Horning, Jason and Linda (Sauder) Burkholder, Curvin and Mary Anne (Burkholder) Burkholder, Nancy and Eugene Zimmerman, Marlene and Lee Alan Zimmerman, Wilma Jane and Leonard Newswanger, Samuel Roy and Joann (Weaver) Burkholder, and Lena Mae and Harlan Rissler; his maternal grandfather: Harry Burkholder of New Holland, PA; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was loved by 29 nieces and 23 nephews. Alson was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; his maternal grandmother; and an infant nephew: Delmar Horning.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at his home, 634 Free Road, Shiloh, Ohio 44878. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 at 9:30 am at the Bloomingrove Old Order Mennonite Church, Free Road, Shiloh, Ohio, with Bishop Alvin Hoover and the home ministry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
