Woodrow C. “Woody” Roberts

Woodrow C. Woody Roberts, age 89, of Shelby died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the Crestwood Care Center.

Woody was born July 30, 1918 in Stanford, Kentucky the son of the late Sam and Agnes (Watts) Roberts. He was a painter for Carl Haverfield, Chris Reining and his son, Denny Roberts Painting. He had been an employee of the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield and retired from Shelby City Schools as a custodian. Woody was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his 3 sons and their wives, Denny and Sharon Roberts of Greenwich, Dave and Cindy Roberts of Shelby, Duane and Lisa Roberts of Mansfield; 7 grandchildren , Dirk Roberts, Dusty Roberts, Derrin Roberts, Dawn Charette-Roberts, Jamie Roberts, Derek Roberts, Danielle Roberts;14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred M. (Haverfield) Roberts in 2003 and by 3 brothers, James Roberts, Edward Roberts, and Ozzie Roberts.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 with burial in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. The Turner Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. The family would appreciate on-line condolences at
