William H. Tilton

William H. Tilton, age 54, of 63 Auburn Avenue, Shelby, died at 3:05 a.m. Saturday in Mansfield General Hospital after a short illness. He was born May 15, 1935 in Plymouth.

Mr. Tilton was a retired employee of Tech Form Industries in Shelby. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby and AA. He was an Army veteran.

Mr. Tilton is survived by his wife, Donna (Myers) Tilton, whom he married on June 30, 1956; 3 sons: Fred, Ed, and Ted Tilton, all of Shelby; 1 daughter, Jada Tilton of Shelby; 2 grandchildren;
his mother, Evelyn Poole, of Mansfield; 2 brothers: Lawrence Tilton of Lucas, and Dennis Poole of Mansfield; 2 sisters: Martha Steagall and Mrs. Raymond (Vicki) Freeman both of Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Tilton; step-father, Forrest Poole; and step mother Hazel Tilton.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with his pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Calling hours will be held today (Monday) at the Turner Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Memorial expressions may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
