William Burchett

William Burchett age 67, of New Haven Road, Tiro, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday at Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born January 11, 1919 in Ophar, Kentucky the son of John David and Louella (Combs) Burchett.

Mr. Burchett is survived by his wife Hallie (Roark) Burchett whom he married on June 22, 1946; 2 sons: Wayne D. Burchett of Marion, and Jerry Burchett of Mt. Vernon; 1 daughter, Joyce Porter of Shelby; 5 grandchildren; 3 brothers: George Burchett of Plymouth, James Carl Burchett of Deputy, Indiana, and Blain Burchett of West Liberty, KY; 2 sisters: Mrs. Cecil (Virginia) Craft of North Fairfield and Mrs. Lloyd (Allie) Hearne of Hanover, Indiana. He was preceded in death by 1 sister and 1 brother.

Mr. Burchett was a retired watchman from A.M.F. in Shelby. He was an Army veteran in WWII. He was a member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge #350, F and AM, and the American Legion Post #584 in Marion.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Schag, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Friends may call Monday (today) from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. at
the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Memorial expressions may be made to the American Heart Association and left at the Turner Funeral Home.
