William Acy Nickell

William Acy Nickell, 73, of 110 West Fourth St., Mansfield, died Saturday, September 20, 1997, at his home. He was born March 3, 1924 in Rowan County, Kentucky the son of Willie Jackson and Addie Lee (Royce) Nickell.
Mr. Nickell was a veteran of WWII serving with the Army as a corporal, retired as a security officer with Pinkerton Securities in Mansfield. He was a former employee of Southern States of Morehead, Kentucky and the Morehead city police department.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Audrey Smith and Frieda Rowland both of Ashland; 2 brothers,Robert Nickell of Morehead, Kentucky and Harold Nickell of Mansfield; 2 sisters, Callie Jarvis of Mansfield and Pearl Stephens of Shiloh; 5 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 23 step great grandchildren; 6 step great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Buckner Nickell on March 14, 1996, brother, Carl Nickell and sister, Olla Mae Alfrey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. , Tuesday, September 23, 1997 a the Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals in Morehead with Rev. Larry Joe Nickell officiating. Burial in Williams Cemetery in Morehead with military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post # 126. Friends may call any time at the Northcutt funeral home. Turner Funeral Home in Shelby is in charge of the local arrangements.
