Willard Andrew Pettit

Willard A. Pettit, 92, of 56 Mack Ave., died unexpectedly Monday morning at his home. Born Oct. 8, 1893 in Culbertson, NE, he was the son of Andrew and Jeneva (Cline) Pettit.

He retired in 1958 from Westinghouse Corp. in Mansfield. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the American Association of Retired Persons.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline E. (Rhine), whom he married June 6, 1942; one daughter, Bertha Wood of Shelby; one granddaughter, Lolita Bukowski of Garfield Heights; 12 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Oma Marie (Akers) Pettit in 1914; one daughter, Irene Sommerlot in 1935; four brothers: Ira, Bentley, Charles and Wilbur; and one sister, Amy Payne.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Turner Funeral Home with his pastor, Rev. Carl L. Johnson, officiating. In terment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Plymouth.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home.
