Wilbur H. Dick
Wilbur H. Dick, age 84, of 34 Post Street, in Shelby died early Thursday morning at his home. He was born April 2, 1909 in Auburn Township, Crawford County, Ohio, the son of Willard and Effie (Crum) Dick.
Mr. Dick retired in 1979 from the Newark Air Force Base and after his retirement he was a farmer. He was a graduate of Tiro High School and was a member of the Shelby American Leigon O’Brien Post #326. He was a Navy veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Tiro United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Clara (Fisher) Ulmer Dick, whom he married on April 3, 1954; 2 step-sons and daughters-in-law: Eugene and Norma Ulmer of Dayton, Ohio and Benjamin and Roberta Ulmer of Bellbrook, Ohio; 11 step-grandchildren: Debra Betts, Sherry Johnson, Jacquelinn Studer, Dianna Guttenburg, Susie Spiess, Douglan Studer, Michael Studer, Rick Ulmer, Mike Ulmer, Elizabeth Ulmer and Andrew Ulmer; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Dana and LaVon Shull of Tiro; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a step-daughter Bonnie Studer, step-grandson, James Studer, a brother, Clarence Dick and his parents.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. with his pastor Rev. Netty D. Burkey, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial expressions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Tiro United Methodist Church and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
