Waunita Mae Burdge

Waunita Mae Burdge, 70, formerly of New Haven, died Sunday evening in the Griffeth Nursing Home in Mansfield after a short illness.

Born April 15, 1921 in Willard, the daughter of Rossie Edward and Jennie Pearl (Harriman) Burdge, she was a member of the Temple of Faith Church in Shelby.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Buncie Jo Burdge of Shelby; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and Richard Burdge; two half-brothers, Cloyce and Harry Burdge; and a half-sister, Glaydis Black.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Temple of Faith Church, 2179 Taylortown Rd., with the Rev. Edward Gayheart officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg, FL. Calling hours will not be observed. The Turner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
