Wanda J. (Yoakam) Champion

Wanda J. Champion, age 70, of 48 Pinewood Drive, Shelby, died early Monday morning in Shelby Memorial Hospitsl after a short illness. She was born January 28, 1921 in Akron, Ohio the daughter of Ray and Iris (Hoeft) Yoakam.

Mrs. Champion was a homemaker and a member of the Shelby Amvets Post #13.

She is survived by 2 sons: Robert Champion, Jr. of Shelby and Rex A. Champion of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 daughters: Kaye Teeters of Homestead, Florida and Nancy Howell of Houston, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in desth by her husband Robert Champion, Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturdsy at 2:00 p.m. at the Foursquare Gospel Church, 383 Davidson St., Mansfield with Pastor George Reece officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Turner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
