Walsa (Bradley) Wilson

Walsa L. Wilson, age 93, of 3233 Myers Road, Shelby, died Sunday,
March 11, 2007 at her home after an extended illness.

She was born March 31, 1913 in Wolfe County, Kentucky the daughter of the late John Henry and Della (Parks) Bradley. On February 2, 1933 she married Chadman Rollen Wilson and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1989. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Shelby. She has always been an inspiration to her family and a loving homemaker. She has always had a passion for reading and growing flowers with a true love of roses. For many years, she enjoyed making beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren. A deep compassion for animals has kept her busy crocheting hand towel and making catnip toys which were donated and sold to help the Richland County Humane Society and other animal shelters for homeless cats and dogs.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by 4 sons and spouses, John M. and Marilyn Wilson of Arkansas, Estill and Roberta Wilson of Shelby, Danny D. and Ruby Wilson of Kentucky and Jimmy L. and Bonnie Wilson of Tennessee; a daughter and spouse, Kaye and Jan Byles of Shelby; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a special caregiver, Debbie Gates; a loving companion and caregiver, LaRay Peedo Kovach, who was Nanny’s Angel; and her canine companion, Bubba. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chadman Rollen Wilson in 1989, a daughter, Wanda F. Moyer in 1985 and a brother Russell Bradley.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Monty Perry and Rev. Herman Copley officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
