Volet Newsome

Volet Newsome, age 69, formerly of Galion and an area resident, died Sunday, June 11, 2006 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby after an extended illness.

He was born March 30, 1937 in Floyd County, Kentucky the son of the late Charley and Pricy (Jones) Newsome. Volet worked in the construction trade most of his life.

He is survived by 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Lois and Cline Tackett of Greenwich and Lora Tuttle of Plymouth; Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Gilver Moore, Worley Newsome, and Ottis Newsome.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be in Greenberry Hall Cemetery in McDowell, Kentucky.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby.
