Vivian M. Dickerson

Vivian M. Dickerson, age 90, of 96 Park Village, Shelby, died Sunday morning, February 22, 1998 in Med Central-Shelby Hospital after a short illness.

She was born September 25, 1907 in Shelby. Mrs. Dickerson was an Licensed Practical Nurse in the Obstetrics Department at Mansfield General Hospital and Shelby Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School.

Mrs. Dickerson is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Carolyn Dickerson of Mansfield; 3 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Norma Lucille Nelson of Shelby, Ethel and Parnell Kennard of Shiloh, and Janice Ivy of Mansfield; 18 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; 28 great great grandchildren; 2 nephews and 1 niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter P. Dickerson in 1964, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Calling hours will not be observed. Graveside services will be on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at Ganges Cemetery with Rev. Robert Becker, officiating. Memorial expressions may be made to Shelby Home and Public Health. The Turner Funeral Home in Shelby is in charge of the arrangements.
