Virginia Mae (Higgins) Lord
Virginia Mae Lord, age 74, of 45 Park Avenue, Shelby, died unexpectedly early Friday morning, August 15, 1997 at Med Central Shelby Hospital. She was born July 26, 1923 in Rome, Ohio the daughter of Harry and Mary (Johnston) Higgins.
Mrs. Lord was a retired stenographer from the Autocall Corporation in Shelby with 24 years of service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a 1942 graduate of Shelby High School.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Fredrick Lord, whom she married on January 1, 1948; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Nancy Lord of Sunbury, Ohio and Tim and Cindy Lord of Pousquon, Virginia; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Tam E. and Denny Miller of Idaho Springs, Colorado; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ethel Brubaker of Ashland, Ohio and Florence Emminger of Highland, California; 1 brother, Ralph Higgins of California.
She was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Sam Lord, 4 sisters, Mary Keinath, Margaret Hulsey, Ruth Lenhart, Bell Forquer, and 4 brothers, Harold, Marion, George, and Thomas Higgins.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial will be in Sandusky Township Cemetery, Crawford County, Ohio.
Memorial expressions may be made to the American Heart Association and left in care of the funeral home.
