Viola E. (Henry) Hannafus
Viola E. Hannafus, age 89, of 42 Mack Avenue, in Shelby, died Saturday morning
in the Heritage Care Center after a long illness. She was born February 10, 1904 in Salem, Pennsylvania the daughter of Jack and Amanda (Shaffer) Henry.
Mrs. Hannafus was a former employee of the Shelby Salesbook Company. She was a
a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby and the Ruth Gleaners Sunday School Class at the church. She was also a member of the Shelby American Legion Auxiliary, the Shelby V.F.W. Auxiliary, Shelby A.A.R.P. and the American Red Cross.
Mrs. Hannafus is survived by 2 sisters: Margaret Perry of Mansfield and Olive McKinney of Bellville; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Terry Boice of Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hannafus, in 1966 and by 2 brothers, 5 sisters, and an infant daughter.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. with her pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
