Veronica M. (Bockrath) Borgelt
Veronica M. Borgelt, 94, of 100 Park Village, died early Sunday morning in Shelby Memorial Hospital
after a short illness.
She was born October 24, 1894 in Putnam County the daughter of J.C. And Elizabeth (Unverferth) Bockrath. She had been a Shelby resident since 1980.
Mrs. Borgelt was a homemaker and a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia in Glandorf.
She is survived by two sons; Vincent Borgelt of Crestline and James Borgelt of Shelby, one daughter; Rita Heavin of Rolling Meadows IL; 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Richard Bockrath of Ft. Jennings, and Herbert Bockrath of Cloverdale; one sister, Dorothy Woolard of Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Borgelt, in 1978; one daughter, Sister Gabriel OP; one son, Gilbert; one grandson, four brothers and six sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glandorf, Ohio celebrated by the Rev. Louis Osterhage. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Glandorf.
Friends may call this evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home where wake services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Calling hours will also be held on Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the McCrate-Love Funeral Home in Ottawa, Ohio. Wake services will be held there on Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Benedictine Missions and left at the funeral Home.
