Veronica Blondina (Gies) Minges

Veronica Blondina (Gies) Minges, age 96, formerly of 238 West Main Street, Shelby, died early Friday morning, July 14, 1995, in the Northview Nursing Home in Johnstown, Ohio.
Mrs. Minges was born September 10, 1898 in North Auburn the daughter of August and Margaret (Gabriel) Gies.
Mrs. Minges worked for many years at the Coffee Shop in Shelby as their pie baker. She also worked in the laundry department of Shelby Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella. Mrs. Minges has resided the past 15 years at the Northview Nursing Home in Johnstown, and was a member of the Church Of The Ascension in Johnstown.
Mrs. Minges is survived by 8 grandchildren; Larry Baker of Coconut Creek, Florida; Dan and Beth Baker of Mansfield; Peggy and Dick DeWitt of Columbus, Ohio; Terry and Phyllis Baker of Pataskala, Ohio; Mary and Jack Coppess of Johnstown, Ohio; Sallie and Jim White of Johnstown, Ohio; Bonnie and Ken Carter of Westerville, Ohio; David Baker of Mansfield;
21 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews;
She was preceded in death by her husband , Joseph S. Minges in 1961; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Glenn E. Baker; 1 grandson Jack Baker and by 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with Father John C. Missler, officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
