Vernon K. Stevens
Vernon K. Stevens, age 55, of 241 Sixth Avenue in Mansfield, died unexpectedly Thursday at his home. He was born August 21, 1938 in Morehead, Kentucky the son of Stirle and Ada M. (Plank) Stevens.
Mr. Stevens was a retired employee of Empire-Detroit Steel in Mansfield. He was a member of the Sons Of Herman and the V.F.W. in Mansfield. He served in the Army Reserve.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his mother, Ada Stevens of Lucas; 1 daughter and son-in-law,
Samantha and Ronald Corn of Houston, Texas; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Pamela Stevens of Mansfield and Gregory and Laura Stevens of Marion; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Tina and Ralph Dunham of Shelby and Patty and Lee Minor of Lucas; 3 nieces; 2 nephews; 2 great nieces; 3 great nephews; a special friend, Charlotte Dew of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his father Stirle Stevens in 1974, by a brother, Donnie J. Stevens and a sister, Remonia Stevens.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Hertis Stone and Rev. Bruce Copley officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery.
