Verlin Jack Wilcox

Verlin Jack Wilcox, age 91, a Shelby native, passed away June 5, 2005 in Lakeland, Florida.
He was born October 27, 1913 in Shelby to Fordy and Verma Wilcox.

He leaves his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Mary June Gates Wilcox; a sister, Betty Walp; and a brother, Gale Wilcox both of Shelby.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.

An Army veteran of WWII, he retired in 1970 from Copperweld in Shelby. He was a member of the BPOE Lodge in Willard and Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326.

A memorial with military graveside services, conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail, will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
