Vera E. (Myers) Haverfield

Vera E. Haverfield, age 82, of 2242 St. Rt. 96 East, Shelby, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 22, 2004 at her home.

She was born April 7, 1922 at the family farm in Jackson Township, Richland County, OH to the late Glenn Jay and Golda B. (Artz) Myers. She was a 1940 graduate of S.helby High School and was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She worked at the Shelby Spring Hinge Co. and Wilkins Air Force Depot. She enjoyed knitting, glass collecting, and painting on china.

Vera is survived by her husband, Glenn L. Haverfield, whom she married on July 25,1942; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Gladys Myers of Shelby, Donald and Frances Haverfield of Shelby, and Roger and Carol Haverfield of Sterling, VA; nieces and nephews: Judy and Jacque Hoover, Dean and Gail Myers, and Larry Myers all of Shelby.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marlin W. Myers in 1995.

Friends may call on Monday, May 24, 2004, from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby and also on Tuesday one hour prior to the 11:00 AM funeral at the funeral home. Rev. Steven C. Bond and Rev. Ron Wells will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
