Van B. Mahon

Van B. Mahon, age 66, of 43 West End Blvd., Shelby, Ohio, died unexpectedly Monday morning at Shelby Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at home. He was born January 4, 1926 in Ragland, WV, the son of Buren and Lurinda (Runyon) Mahon.
Mr. Mahon was a former emrloyee of the Standard Tube Corp. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Army in the European Theater. He was a member of the Shelby V.F.W. Post #291.
Mr. Mahon is survived by his wife, Mavis (Pack) Mahon, whom he married on March 31, 1950; 2 sons: Vandal W. Mahon of Denver, Colorado, and Robert K. Mahon of Columbus, Ohio; 1 daughter: Sandra E. Rinehart of Crestline; 2 grandchildren; 3 brothers: Lewis Mahon, Lane Mahon, and Horace Mahon all of Shelby; 3 sisters: Effie M. Murphy or Columbus, Edna Murphy of Mansfield, and Elizabeth Eppling or Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Woodrow and Troy Mahon; and 1 sister Virgie (Mahon) Murphy.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. S.T. Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Shelby V.F.W. Post #291.
