Urban Stephen Keller

Urban Stephen Keller, age 77, of 5416 Settlement East Road, Shelby, died unexpectedly, Saturday, November 22, 2003 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital.

He was born December 8, 1925 in the Shelby Settlement, the son of the late Stephen Henry and Martha Amelia (Brown) Keller. Urban was born and lived his entire life on the family farm which he farmed with his brother Dale. He and Dale received the Century Farm Award, recognition from the Catholic Diocese of Tolodo to farms that have been in the same family for over 100 years. Urban enjoyed fishing and motorcycle racing and was an avid euchre player. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem, Shelby Settlement and the Crestline Knights of Columbus.

Urban is survived by 2 sisters: Florence Gabele of Avon, Ohio and Sr. Marilyn (Bernice) Keller, OSF of Tiffin, Ohio; 5 brothers and spouses: Carl and Rosemary Keller of Shelby, Norbert Shorty and Edna Keller of Crestline, Stephen and Margaret Keller of Shelby, Brother Richard Keller CSC, of Gates Mills, Ohio, and Dale Keller of Shelby; Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Pauline Keller and a brother-in-law, Richard A. Gabele.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 25, 2003, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where a Christian Wake service will be held at 8:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:30 AM November 26, 2003 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to Sacred Heart Church or Sacred Heart School.
