Thurman J. Stults

Thurman J. Stults, age 71, of 30 Vernon Road, Shelby, died Monday morning in the Crestwood Care Center after an extended illness. He was born August 13, 1918 in Alliance, Ohio, the son of Jacob and Ruth (Stacy) Stults.

Mr. Stults had been employed at the Ohio Seamless Tube until he was inducted into the Army in 1942 during WWII. After his dicharge, he was employed by Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co until he retired in 1977. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Shelby, and Shelby Masonic Lodge No. 350 F. and A.M. and Shelby Chapter No. 178 R.A.M.

He is survived by his wife, Hildred (Brooks) Stults, whom he married on Oct. 13, 1952. 2 brothers: Jack Stults of Moore, Oklahoma, and Richard Stults of Shelby. 5 sisters: Mrs. Ozzie (Betty) Roberts of Shelby, Mrs. Louie (Faye) Olsen of Brookfield WI, Mrs. Robert (Dolores) Ferguson of Alliance, OH, Mrs. Harold (Jane) Becker of Barstow, California, and Fern Thrash of Rialto, California.

He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby by Pastor Rev. C. Reid Miller. Military services will be held at the graveside conducted by the Shelby American Legion. Calling hours will not be observed.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society and left at the Turner Funeral Home which is in charge of funeral arrangements.
