Thomas I. Carner

Thomas I. Carner, age 91, formerly of 67 Walnut Street in Shelby, died early Sunday morning in Mercy-Sienna Woods Care Center in Dayton.
He was born December 22, 1903 in Shelby the son of Harry and Matilda (Finnegan) Carner.
Mr. Carner was a retired employee of the Ohio Steel Tube Company. He was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church, Shelby Knights of Columbus Council #1968 and the Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326. He was a Navy Seabees Veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marguerite E. (Ovens) Carner, who resides at 4830 Salem Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45416; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John and Mary Jo Drilling Carner of Tipp City, Ohio, Richard and Patty Carner of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Michael and Nancy Carner of Kettering, Ohio; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and James Hormuth of Gathersburg, Maryland; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter.
As well as numerous cousins in the Marion Area.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 A.M. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with Father John C. Missler, officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Friends and relatives may greet the family following the service.
