Theodore Tracy “Ted” Sagle

Theodore Tracy Ted Sagle, age 82, of Shelby, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Med Central Shelby Hospital.

Ted was born January 22, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to the late Carter Tracy and Elsie (Scholl) Sagle. He was a United States Veteran serving in the Marines during the Korean War. Ted had worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, was the owner of a trampoline business, and was a truck driver for United Van Lines. Since 1987, Ted had been the owner of Ted and Ali’s Corner Café in Shelby. He was a military buff and loved military history. Ted’s grandkids were a high priority to him and were number one in his life.

Ted is survived by: his children, Amanda M. (Scott) Stone, of Shelby, Sheri (Richard) Hunt, of St. Louis, MO, Audrie J. Dolan, of St. Louis, MO, Lora L. (Gordon) Myers, of Shiloh, Patrick M. (Alex) Rowland, of Phoenix, AZ, Toni L. Rowland, of Carlton, MI, Steven M. Rowland, of Shelby, Jennifer L. Kershner, of Shelby; 21 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Evans, of St. Louis, MO, Elaine (Bill) Ketchelmeir, of MO; special nephew, Spencer Evans, of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by Edward Roberts and Family and Melanie Griffith and Family. Ted was preceded in death by: his wife, Alice Jayne (Sergent) Sagle on December 19, 2010; 2 grandchildren, Troy Allen Kershner and Michael Kyle Kershner.

Friends may call on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45250-0301.
