Teddy Ronald Mitchell
Teddy Ronald Mitchell age 76, of Shelby died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the home of his son in Ashland.
He was born September 13, 1934 in Ligon, Kentucky the son of Tramble, Sr. and Lillian (Walters) Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a 1954 graduate of McDowell High School in McDowell, Kentucky and had also attended the Mayo State Vocational School. From 1954 to 1956 Teddy served in the United States Army. He retired from MTD in Willard as the supervisor of the paint department. Teddy was a member of LifePointe Community Church in Plymouth and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and was a very devoted family man.
On February 12, 1972 he married Willa Dean Slone who survives, along with a son: Jim (Tammy) Mitchell of Ashland; 6 grandchildren: Joni, Craig (C.J.), Heather, Courtney, Dasha, and James II; 6 great grandchildren; one sister: Helen King of Plymouth. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother: Tramble Tabby Mitchell, Jr.
Friends may call on Friday July 22, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM with Pastor Rich Hurles officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with military honors conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
