Stephen P. Pry

Stephen P. Pry, age 47, of 4885 State Route 39, Crestline, died Tuesday evening, December 19, 1995, at his home after a long illness. He was born December 14, 1948 in Shelby the son of Lewis Eldon and Carol (Schafstall) Pry who survive in Crestline.

Mr. Pry retired due to poor health as a glass inspector at P.P.G. in Crestline and as a bus drive for the Buckeye Central Schools. He had owned Steve’s Woodworking in Mansfield.

He was a member of the First Church of God in Shelby where he was a trustee; Past president of Richland County R.E.A.C.T.; Shelby V.F.W. George Broderick Post #291; Crawford County Red Cross Disaster Team;and was a Volunteer Fireman and E.M.T. with the Tiro-Auburn Fire Department; He was a point man leader for Point Man International Ministries, a christian outreach organization for veterans. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1969 and 1970 with the 101st Airborne. He was a graduate of Buckeye Central High School.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pry is survived by his wife, Suanne (Edmond) Pry whom he married on December 4, 1981; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Wayne and Kate Pry of Shelby and Jon D. and Krista Estridge of Columbus; 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Monica and Dan Harmon of Willard and Evelyn and Chad Franklin of Crestline; 3 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law, Dan and Nancy Pry of Westerville, Randy and Jan Pry of Shelby, and Doug Pry of Crestline; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Roger Nedolast of Shelby; 3 granddaughters, Jessica, Nikki and Ashely.

Calling hours will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the First Church of God on State Route 39 in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with his pastor Rev. Tim E. Schrock and Chuck Dean, Author of NamVet, from Seattle, Washington, officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crestline chapter of Point Man Ministries or to the family, and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street; Shelby, Ohio 44875.
