Stephen L. Kempf
Stephen L. Kempf, age 62, formerly of Bendle Avenue, Shelby, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.
Steve was born February 8, 1948 in New Washington, Ohio. He went to Newhope School and Industries and most recently attended the Newhope Options program. He worked at Long John Silvers and Carton Service. Steve loved books, listening to music, shooting baskets and watching old TV shows. He was fun-loving and enjoyed vacationing at Myrtle Beach and especially at Walt Disney World. Steve was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
He is survived by his mother: Catherine (Kreim) Kempf of Ontario; a sister and her husband: Jean and Ed Russell of Shelby. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father: Carl B. Kempf in 1991 and a brother: Eric Kempf in 1971.
Friends may call on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
