Stanley R. Weaver

Stanley R. Weaver, age 67, of 93 Auburn Avenue, Shelby died Sunday evening in the University Hospital in Cleveland after an extened illness. He was born May 24, 1921 in Willard, the son of William P. and Ivy (Young) Weaver.

Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, Marcella (Metzger) Weaver, whom he married on August 3, 1947; 1 son, Tom Weaver of Westlake, Ohio; 2 grandsons; 3 sisters: Savannah Weaver of Willard, Evelyn Lewandowski, of San Antonio, Texas, and Violet Arnold of Shelby.

He was preceded in death by 3 sisters.

Mr. Weaver retired from PPG in Crestline, where he was a line inspector, and had been a custodian for the Shelby Public Schools. He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Shelby Elks Club, Willard V.F.W., and was a lifetime member of the Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326, where he served as past Trustee, and House Chairman. He was also a past Leigionaire of the year. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army.

Mass of the ressurection will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with his pastor the Rev. Bernard A. Kokocinski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call today from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home where wake services will be held at 8:30 p.m. followed by the D of I rosary service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritus Foundation and left at the funeral home.
