Stanley C. Hamilton
Stanley C. Hamilton, 73, of 123 Second St. died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the Crestwood Care Center after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 2, 1915, in West Liberty, KY, to the late Taylor and Lula (Romans) Hamilton, he was a self-employed carpenter and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife, O’dell McFarland Hamilton, whom he married on June 6, 1937; one son, Doug of Shelby; three grandchildren; ahd one brother, John Paul Hamilton of Cottonwood, AZ.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Taylor.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, where services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. S.T. Adkins, pastor of the Tiro United Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Shelby American Legion.
