Shirley Lee Bailey

Shirley Lee Bailey, age 71, formerly of 62 Mansfield Avenue, Shelby and most recently of Country Meadows Care Center in Bellville, died Thursday evening, January 23, 2003 at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon after an extended illness.

She was born September 10, 1931 in Cumberland, Maryland the daughter of the late Patsy and Belva (Collins) Weimer. Mrs. Bailey was a former employee of the Tappan Co. in Mansfield and Hi-Stat Industries in Lexington. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, fishing and playing bingo.

Shirley is survived by 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Debra and Dean Keinath of Shelby, Natalie Lucanegro of Shelby; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Debra Lucanegro of Shiloh; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Richard Weimer of Florida, Bernard Weimer of Iowa, Frank Weimer of Shelby and Ernest Weimer of Galion; a sister, Geraldine Roberts of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and 2 sisters-in-law, Wilbur and Gladys Weimer, Carrie Weimer, an infant sister and her son-in-law, Raymond Sexton.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Valley Baptist Church, 2598 East Smiley Road, Shelby with Rev. Herman King officiating. Memorial expressions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby is in charge of the arrangements.
