Samuel Charles Shook

Samuel Charles Shook, age 81, of 3343 State Route 39, Shelby, died at 8:14 P.M. Tuesday in Shelby Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born on May 29, 1905 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Charles A. and Essie (Ferguson) Shook.

Mr. Shook is survived by his wife, Esther (Grieves) Shook, whom he married on May 29, 1930; 1 daughter: Martha Jean VanMeter of Cincinnati; 2 grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mrs. Margaret Brewer of Springfield, and Mrs. Ronald (Zada) Strickland of Arizona.

Mr. Shook was a retired employee of the Westinghouse Corp. in Mansfield. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Shelby and the Shelby AARP.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10:30 A.M. at the Turner Funeral Home with his pastor the Rev. J. Malcolm Brook officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church and left at the funeral home.
