Sally J. (Swanger) Seaman

Sally J. Seaman, age 65, of 8 Myers Avenue, Shelby, died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at Med Central Mansfield Hospital. She had been ill the past six months.
She was born May 22, 1937 in Willard, Ohio, the daughter of the late Glenn McKinley and Lela T. (Barnd) Swanger. Sally was a 1955 graduate of Shiloh High School. She worked the past 9 1/2 years as a cook at Med Central Shelby Hospital. Prior to that she was employed at the Shelby Spring Hinge Co., Shelby Fulfillment Corp., and Autocall Corp. Sally was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Shelby Hospital Guild, AARP, and was a Charter member of the Shiloh American Legion Auxiliary Post # 503. Her hobbies included crocheting, making crafts, and attending craft shows. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. “Bob” Seaman, whom she wed on September 20, 1964; a daughter and son-in-law: Marla S. and Gary Thomas of Shelby; 4 grandchildren: Rachel Mitchell of Butler, OH and Ashley Williams, Natalie Williams and Collin Williams all of Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Amy Jo Seaman Mitchell in 1992; and a grandson, Tyler Andrew Williams in 1988.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held at 10AM Wednesday with Rev. Carl Beighley and Rev. Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. Memorial expressions may be made to Shelby Home and Public Health or to the Shelby Hospital Guild.
