Ruth Mary (Smith) Clark
Ruth Mary Clark, age 82, of rural Mansfield, died Sunday evening, May 22, 2011 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital.
She was born September 17, 1928 in Harrison County, OH the daughter of the late Sumner Sherman and Sara Eleanor (Whitten) Smith. She was a 1945 graduate of Cadiz High School.
She and her husband , Donald, owned and operated the family business, RFD, where she served as the bookkeeper and secretary.
Ruth was an active member of Clay Memorial Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, was a Luther League Advisor and a member of the Ione Lantz Circle. She was a member of the OSU Extension and had been a 4-H Advisor. Ruth enjoyed reading and traveling. She and her husband, Donald, traveled extensively around the World with the People To People Organization. She was a loving mother to her family and her extended family.
Ruth is survived by her husband: Donald Elzy Clark, Sr. whom she wed on August 25, 1946; 4 children: Marjorie (Steven) Guthrie of Mansfield, Linda Clark (Roger Guertner) of Scottsdale, AZ,
Donald Elzy Clark, II Butch (Toni) of Bellville, Sara Ruth Clark of Mansfield; a son-in-law and his spouse: John Timothy (Marlene) Krisko of Ashland; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Donna Krisko in 1978 and a sister: Mabel Faye Clark.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby and also on Thursday at Clay Memorial Lutheran Church from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM by Minister Carol Kilgore. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church.
