Ruth M. (Fackler) Lynch

Ruth M. Lynch, age 74, of 3469 London West Road in Shelby, died Sunday afternoon in Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard after an extended illness. She was born January 18, 1915 in Shelby, the daughter of Samuel and Ida (Malone) Fackler.

Mrs. Lynch is survived by her husband, Milton L. (Bud) Lynch whan she married on June 25, 1938; 4 sons: Samuel Lynch of Clyde; Earl, Roger, and Ray Lynch all of Shelby; 17 grandchildren; her aunt, Ozra Price of Shelby.

She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Foster Fackler.

Mrs. Lynch received a bachelors degree in elementary education from Case Western Reserve University and a masters degree in special education fram Bowling Green State University. She was a teacher for many years starting her career in a one room school house. She taught many years in the Shiloh and Plymouth Schools, teaching elementary and special education classes. She retired as special educational coordinator for the Richland County Board of Education in 1978.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Chutch in Punta Garda, Florida and First Lutheran Church in Shelby where she taught the inner denominational special education Sunday school class. She was a member of the Sunshine Club, the American Cancer Society Board of Directors Richland-Shelby Unit, Retired Teachers Association, and AARP.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church with her pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johrlson and her niece Mrs. Bernadine Simpson, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cerretery in Shelby. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Turner Funeral Home.

Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society, or the Shelby Public Health League and left at the funeral home.
