Ruth E. (Neumann) Gwirtz

Ruth E. Gwirtz, age 82, of Crestline, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Crestline Nursing Center.

She was born March 11, 1930 in Crestline, Crawford County, Ohio the daughter of Grover S. and Ella Emma (Lee) Neumann. She was a graduate of Jefferson Rural School in Leesville and retired in 1987 from North Electric/ ITT in Galion. She was a member of the First Church of God in Shelby and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Ruth enjoyed playing cards, gardening, sewing, and was a very good cook and baker.

Ruth is survived by her 3 sons: Michael (Christine) Cramer of Galion, Larry (Sheryl) Cramer of Shelby, Steven Cramer of South Carolina; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Lee Neumann and John Neumann; 4 sisters: Christina Mackey, Jill Stall, Rosella Wood and Evelyn Langeohr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Norman J. Gwirtz in 1998, her daughter: Kathy Lewis in 1992, her son: James Cramer, 3 brothers: Franklin, Albert, and William Neumann, 4 sisters: Grace Ball, Dorothy Neumann, Merilyn Brown, and Betty Cole.

Friends may call on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 10-11 AM at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM with Pastor George Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to the church.
