Ruth E. (Heifner) Dershimer

Ruth E. Dershimer, age 90, formerly of 66 Roberts Drive, Shelby, died Friday afternoon August 24, 2001 at the Crestwood Care Center.

She was born October 13, 1910 in Clearcreek Township, Ashland County, Ohio the daughter of the late John L. and Dessie I. (Burns) Heifner. Mrs. Dershimer retired in 1975 as an assistant automobile underwriter at the Shelby Mutual Insurance Company. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Golden Agers Club.

Mrs. Dershimer is servived by a son and 2 daughters-in-law: Robert E. and Alice Heifner of Shelby and Jane Heifner of Louisville, KY; 6 grandchildren and spouses: Denise and Andy Thompson of Shelby, Danette and Phil Mueller of Shelby, Mike and Laura Heifner of Marysville, Sandy and Brent Junge of Evansville, IN, Pam and Ricky Young of Louisville, KY, Barbara and Joe Alden of Louisville, KY; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Dorothy Williams of Shiloh; she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Dershimer in 1967, a son Paul Heifner in 1997 and a grandson-in-law, Bob Rice.

Graveside services will be held on Monday at 10 AM at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, with Rev. Jeff Matthews officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial expressions may be made to Crestwood Care Center and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875.
