Russell Raymond Myers

Russell Raymond Myers, age 86, of 920 Sharon Valley Road, Newark, Ohio, and formerly of rural Shelby and Ft. Myers Shore, Florida, died Tuesday afternoon in the Arlington Nursing Home in Newark after an extended illness. He was born April 28, 1904 in Mansfield, the son of Willis Victor and Leona (Wolford) Myers.

Mr. Myers had been a self-employed electrician, plubber, bookkeeper, painter, and farmer in the Richland County area. He was a former member of the Ganges Community United Church of Christ, the Richland County Health Board, Richland County Farm Bureau, and the Shelby Equity.
After moving to Florida in 1968, he became a member of the Fort Myers Shores improvement Association and the Olga Fort Myers Shore United Methodist Church.

Mr. Myers is survived by his wife Lois Mildred (Wolf) Myers of Newark, whom he married on August 19, 1927; 2 daughters and son-in-law: Dr. Herman and Mary M. Kuehn of Flushing, Michigan; and William and Ruth E. Lantz of Columbus, Ohio; 4 grandchildren: Pamela McLain of Sodus, NY; Linda Quinn of Springfield, MO; Kathryn Kuehn of San Jose, CA; and Melissa Kuehn of Kalamazoo, MI; 2 great-grandchildren: Danielle and Douglas McLain of Sodus, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Howard Myers.

Calling hours will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with Rev. J. Malcolm Brook, pastor of the Trinity United Methodist
Church officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Church Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the American Red Cross or to the church of the donor’s choice.
