Ruby (Porter) Copley

Ruby Porter Copley, age 63, of 3 Richland Avenue, Shelby, died Thursday morning at the home of her son after an extened illness.

She was born March 8, 1924 in Wayne County, WV, the daughter of Millard and Martha Jane (Selby) Porter.

Mrs. Copley is survived by 3 sons: Greg Copley of Shelby, Dale Copley and Roy Copley both of Palatka, FL; 1 daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Teresa) Phillips of Shelby. 6 grandchildren; 1 sister, Hazel Workman of Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Copley in 1981, and by 3 sons, 1 daughter, 6 brothers and 1 sister.

Mrs. Copley was a homemaker.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Hertis Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime after 2 p.m. on Sunday, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
