Ruby Iona (Ratcliff) Earls

Ruby Iona (Ratcliff) Earls, 64, of 19 Pinewood Dr., Shelby, died Monday morning, April 6, 1998, at MedCentral-Shelby Hospital. She was born June 10, 1933 in West Graham, VA to John Ander and Arie Ann (Shinall) Ratcliff.

Mrs. Earls was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James R. Earls whom she married on July 24, 1973; 2 daughters, Wanda Ismael of Westchester, CA and Phyllis Ratliff of Wooster, OH; 7 grandchildren, Michael, Milicent, and Robert Ismael, Melissa Moor, David Hord, Edward Hord II, and Andrew Ratliff; 6 great-grandchildren, Cory Allen, Adam, Emily, Billy Jo, Christopher and Renae. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Douthard, David, Arnold, William, and Wiley.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 8, at 3:00 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 W. Main St., Shelby with Rev. James Humphrey of the Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m on Wednesday at the Turner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association and left at the funeral home.
