Rosena Laubie

Rosena Laubie, age 88, formerly of Park Village, Shelby died Sunday, January 20, 2008 at the Heritage Care Center after a short illness.

She was born January 8, 1920 in Mason County, West Virginia the daughter of the late Pearl O. and Christena (Lewis) Fisher. Rosena was a 1939 graduate of Lykens High School. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the Shelby Sales Book Company. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a former member of Clover Leaf Square Dance Club.

Rosena is survived by 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Christena and William Smith of Shelby, Susan and Allison Tub Shell of Shelby, Donna Ruth Laubie of Crestline, Mary Lou and Raymond Lewis of Shelby; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Soledad Laubie of Brentwood, TN; 18 grandchildren: Charlie and Connie Smith of Willard, Mike and Christi Smith of Shelby, Andy Smith of Shelby, Dirk DeVito of Shelby, Douglas and Kirsten DeVito of Shelby, Johnna and Richie Vineyard of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Tami and Dan Maynard of Crestline, Ray Jr. and Tammy Lewis of Hatttiesburg, MS, Tom and Mellaine Lewis of Shelby, Deb and Joe Verb of Curtice, OH, Tonya and Gordon Ainsworth of New Market, MD, Lara and John Graf of Los Angeles, CA, Andrea and Josh Moses of Brentwood, TN, David F. Laubie of Brentwood, TN, Steve and Cheryl Shell of Crestline, Karen and John Green of Prince Frederick, MD, Rebecca Shell of Shelby, Michael Shell of Mason, OH;2 foster grandchildren, Penny and Jeff Perrine of Oregon, OH and Carl Leach of Ashville, NC; Numerous great grandchildren with two on the way and numerous great great grandchildren with 1 on the way; Nieces and nephews; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Corbin of Shelby and Peggy Ann and Ron Bear of Bucyrus; 2 sisters-in-law, Imo Lee Blevins and Virginia Swanger both of Shelby;

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Henry Laubie in 1995, a son, Michael James Laubie in 1953, a brother, Floyd Henry Rass Fisher, a sister, Pearl Odell Kollar, a son-in-law, John DeVito and in-laws, Robert Corbin, Joe and Lois Laubie, Robert Laubie, Frank Swanger Florence Fewell, Bernard Laubie and Paul Laubie.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where a wake service will be conducted at 8 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Nick Cunningham and Father John Missler officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the Heritage Care Center Entertainment Fund.
