Rose Marie Ann (Rybiski) Rogers

Rose Marie Ann Rogers, age 82, of Shelby, died Friday, March 13, 2009 at Hospice House of North Central Ohio in Ashland.

She was born March 3, 1927 in Stratton, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Peter and Bertha (Hanz) Rybiski. She was a 1945 graduate of Kittanning High School in Kittanning, Pa. and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Allegheny Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. Rose retired as nursing supervisor from Shelby Memorial Hospital in 1989 after 30 years of service. Prior to that, she had worked at the TB Hospital and Mansfield General both in Mansfield. She enjoyed gardening and cooking and she loved spending time with her granddaughters.

Rose is survived by a daughter and her husband, Christine and Robert Marty McKinney of Shelby; a son, Clayton C. Rogers of Shelby; 2 granddaughters, Catherine McKinney and Anna McKinney of Shelby; a sister, Beatrice Rybiski of Kittanning, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Rybiski of Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton L. John Rogers in 2005, by 2 brothers, Stanley Rybiski and Francis Rybiski, and a sister, Helen Huber.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services in Shelby. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Kittanning, Pa. Memorial expressions may be made to the American Cancer Society. On-line condolences may be made to penwellturner.com
