Roger L. Frank
Roger L. Frank, age 59, of 106 Martin Drive, Shelby, died early Friday morning, February 25, 2005 at the Ohio State University Medical Center after a short illness.
Roger was born July 1, 1945 in Shelby. Roger was one of the first students in Richland County to attend the School for Mentally Retarded, which later became Richland Newhope in Mansfield. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Shelby. Roger was very fond of his Christmas tree that remained decorated and lit in his room all year round and his pet kitty cat.
Although Roger was unable to communicate traditionally, he was very perceptive and communicated his love and compassion in many ways. Roger was generous in giving good hugs and was the central figure in his family. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Roger is survived by his mother: Thelma I. (Yohn) Frank; a brother: Richard L. (Joann) Frank of Shelby; 2 sisters: Cheryl Reed of Shelby and Karen (Dr. Walter) Kime of Ashland; Nieces and nephews: Mark and Jennifer Kime, David Kime and Kathleen Quinn, Adam and Laura Kime, Margaret and Edward Legenza, David Reed, Bryan and Jennifer Reed, Nathan Reed, Stephanie and Justin Wheeler, Lisa Heydinger, Samuel and Glenna Patton, Jessica Frank, Cory Frank; 11 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ford Herbert Frank, a brother-in-law, Wayne Reed and by a nephew, John Kime.
Friends may call on Sunday, February 27, 2005, from 3-5 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby and on Monday from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. David Carter officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
