Robert L. Hartz
ROBERT L. HARTZ, AGE 73, OF 3964 Amoy Ganges Road, Shelby died Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at his home after a short illness.
He was born October 10, 1926 in Shelby, the son of the late William and Pearl (Gutshall) Hartz. Mr. Hartz was a farmer all of his life. He retired from Copperweld on May 5, 1989 after 20 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked at Richland Shale Brick. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of Taylortown Community Church.
Mr. Hartz is survived by his wife, Dolores “Jean” (Brooks) Hartz, whom he wed on September 26, 1953; 1 son and daugher-in-law: Robert E. and Sherrie Hartz of Shelby; 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and David Stephens of Shiloh, and Becky and Craig Goetz of Lexington. 5 grandchildren: Brent, Jessica, and Sierra Goetz, Ashley and Jamie Stephens; 5 sisters: Nina Hartz, Florence Hartz, Margaret Ferguson, Margie Baird and Irene Hartz all of Shelby; 2 brothers, Albert Hartz and Raymond Hartz both of Shelby.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Dorothy Johns; and 4 brothers: Richard, Herbert, Wilbur and Eldon Hartz.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at the Taylortown Community
Church with his pastor, Rev. O. Douglas Tackett officiating. Burial will be in Richland Church of the Brethern Cemetery on Linn Road with full military honors. Memorial expressions may be made to the Taylortown Community Church or to Med Central Hospice.
